Student Expectations
All students are expected to show quiet behavior and courteous consideration of others at all times while using the Library Media Center. A warning will be given in cases of unacceptable behavior. Continuation of such behavior or insubordination will result in the loss of library privileges. All standard school regulations will be enforced. Cell phones, food and drink are NOT allowed.
- Arrive on time and sign in immediately upon arrival
- Sign in only for yourself–each student must sign his/her own name
- Sign in and out whenever entering the library or leaving the library for any reason before the end of the block.
- Bring necessary materials with you (paper, pens, and books…)
- Refrain from socializing with other students using the library
- Remain seated until the end of block bell rings
Passes:
A subject pass is required for independent library use during all blocks, including lunch. Plan ahead! Obtain a subject pass from a classroom teacher or the Library Media Center staff. Subject passes require the student to specifically state what work he or she is planning to do in the library.
A Courtesy Pass is available by application to students who use the library in a responsible manner on a regular basis. This pass entitles the student to use all library resources without first obtaining a subject pass. It is the student’s responsibility to obtain permission from the classroom teacher to use this pass. Any violations will result in a loss of library privileges and will void the pass.
