Overdue, Lost, or Damaged Materials

Notices and/or bills are usually printed every two weeks. Overdue fines are not charged but students are required to pay for lost or damaged materials. The parent will be refunded if the lost book is returned in good condition.  Students will lose library privileges if materials are two weeks or more overdue.  Report cards are held if materials have not been returned or paid for.

Students have been trained to bring all damaged books to the librarian prior to check out.  All students are required to “browse” their books, before check out, for rips, tears, writing or other damage.  They are also required to check to see if they can read the book (Five Finger Rule).  If a child returns a damaged book, that can not be repaired,  they are required to to pay for a new one.
